Blog Post #5!

Hey guys! So today I wanted to do something a little different and instead of focused drawing I decided to freehand a drawing of a tree:

Since there's not really an original drawing or photo, it's kinda hard to judge how well I did, but to be honest, I really liked the idea. I think I could have improved on the branches and maybe extended them a little bit, but I really wasn't going for perfection, more for fun. Although my project isn't really life-changing, I did practice over break and I think that really helps in the long run. It's hard to update or to comment on a project that's really simple, but hard for me. I guess you kind of have to know be in that person's shoes to know how challenging it is. Well, see you guys next time!

Blog Post #4!

Hey guys! So, for this week's blog post, I decided to draw something in the spirit of Detroit: The Detroit Lions logo!

And here is my recreation:

I decided to shade it at the last minute which was a better idea, because if I left it blank it would just be a vague outline. The paws were really hard to draw, and the right hind paw is waaaayy too high, an I think I could've done better, but I'll get more practice this year.

See you guys next time!

Blog Post #3!

Hey guys! I decided to draw something that I really like, and since I am a HUGE Doctor Who fan, it seemed only fitting that I draw the TARDIS. Allons-y!

And here is my recreation:

This drawing took me forever, but I'm really proud of it. It helped that I picked something I really liked, so I put more effort into it. I also tried a little shading and it turned out alright, but I was hoping it looked it better. It was hard to get all the angles and sides in and the same size, but I managed it in the end. Blog Post #2!

Hey guys! I'm gonna draw again! This time, I think I'll try something a little more challenging. And since yesterday was the first snow of the year, this seems fitting:

And here is my recreation:

I think it went pretty well! the biggest challenge was definetly scale and symmetry. The bottom is off-center and it's slightly larger than the top, but all in all okay. I didn't do shading or coloring, because I want to save the most advanced stuff for last. Also, the six diamonds in the center are all different sizes and are in different places, but I tried my best, so whatever.

See you guys next time!

First Blog Post!

Hey guys! I'm really excited to start 20 Time. I've never really had this opportunity before, and I'm really excited to try it out. So, when Mr. Provenzano announced the idea, I had no idea what to do first. I wanted to do something amazing, but I didn't know what to do or how. So, I went to Evernote and looked at the blogs from last year, and I found one by Brendan L. His idea was to recreate drawings and to see if he improved his skills at the end of the year. I thought that was a really cool idea because I'm really bad at drawing and I think it would be really useful to improve. And so, I am going to try this crazy idea. I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail, but I shall fail with distinction! Being a proud Canadian, this is what I'm going to try and recreate:

This is my recreation. I'm actually pretty happy with it. It took me about 15 minutes and I think I could've shaded or worked on the stem a little bit, but overall, not bad I think. One of the most difficult things was getting it to be symmetrical, especially since I tried to draw one side at a time. I think I could've worked harder on the dark line-thingy part on the leaf (dont't judge me, I'm botanically challenged), because it has more lines then the other side. But overall, I'm pretty happy. Hopefully next time, I can spend a little more time on drawing.

See you next time!
